Using the CK Editor

Some question types have text box areas that contain a toolbox, which can be used to add equations, images and media. To expand the toolbox, select the arrow in the right hand corner of the text box. To see what each button does hover your mouse over the button and the name or function will appear.

The features of the toolbox include

Preview - to see how the zApp appears.

Templates – pre set layouts to make creating visually appealing work simple.

Image - to insert images.

Insert Special Character - choose from a selection of accented letters and characters.

Table – create a table of any specifications.

Insert Horizontal Line ­– creates a preset thin grey line.

Embed YouTube – you can embed content of YouTube through this button. You will need to paste in the embed code off You Tube for this function to work. If you want to embed a video not from YouTube, use Paste as Plain Text with your embed code.

Cut – to cut text from the text editor.

Copy – to paste text or information.

Paste as Plain Text – to paste text without formatting. Plain text is also a way to embed media, so please paste any embed codes into the pop up Plain Text Editor. If this doesn’t work please try another function of the editor.

Paste from Word – To paste text from Word so it retains its formatting.

Find and Replace ­- to search for a word within the text and replace it with something else.

Standard Typeface Customizer – The usual typeface editors you would expect can be found here from style to centering to dot points.

Link – to link to a webpage or file follow the prompts. You will need to have a word selected.

Styles ­–Font styles change the text to a consistent appearance and size.

Paragraph Format – allows you to use headings and different type formats.

Highlight – Allows you to highlight sections of text.

Typeface color – Allows you to change the colour of the text.

Maximize - opens the textbox into a bigger screen for ease of viewing.

WIRIS Editor - is an equation editor. You can select from every imaginable character, equation or symbol.
